About Prosthetics & Orthotics
A number of the patients we treat at CURE require the use of prosthetics and/or orthotics during the course of their treatment or, in many cases, for the rest of their lives. A prosthetic is an artificial device that substitutes for a body part that was missing at birth or lost due to trauma or disease. Orthotics are devices patients wear in their shoes or on their legs or feet to correct biomechanical issues.
Because we believe life-changing treatment extends beyond surgery, all prosthetics and orthotics—along with training on how to use them—are provided at no cost to patients and their families as part of CURE’s comprehensive care.
