We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Sydney. When you give a gift through Sydney's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Zambia. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Sydney. We call it being a CURE Hero!

For Sydney Nalishebo, it all started last October with persistent knee pain. Eventually his mother Constrida noticed a change occurring in her son as his knees seemed to grow closer together. Sydney was brought to a local clinic where an X-ray was taken, showing a deformity known as knock knees. He was advised to come to Beit CURE Hospital, but Constrida did not have the funds. She spent the next few weeks working on farms to save up. Sydney himself withdrew from school in order to work in the fields and look after his uncle’s cattle. His condition constrains his activity, however, because even walking causes him pain. Once enough money was saved up, Syndey and Constrida traveled to Beit CURE where Sydney was admitted for surgery. Once his bones have healed, we hope he may have his mobility once again.
