CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Christyn. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Christyn. When you give a gift through Christyn's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Christyn. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“My daughter is beautiful. She’s a good kid and loves to dance. Her favorite dance move is a combination of twirl that eventually lands on a split! She could hardly wait to go to school and she asks us to buy a pen and pencil so she can draw––it’s her favorite thing to do! My hope for Christyn is to be able to go to school and not get bullied by anybody!” shares Christyn’s mom Arlyn.

Although shy at first, Christyn has the sweetest smile. It takes her a little bit to warm up to people, but when she does, Christyn is friendly and kind. Arlyn and Christyn were connected to Tebow CURE through a local government worker. “We have relatives on my side as well as my husband’s side of the family who have cleft lip and palate just like Christyn. Because of it, Christyn is ashamed to go out especially when people bully her and call her “ugly.” When we found out for an opportunity for Christyn to have surgery, my husband Christopher and I were very happy!” Arlyn adds.

As Christyn starts her healing journey, our hope is for her to know that her true identity relies on how much God loves her instead of what people call her. Thanks to our partnership with Free to Smile and your support for Tebow CURE, Christyn is able to have cleft lip surgery and will soon dance with joy carrying the biggest smile!

Christyn greeted us all with hugs this morning at her follow up appointment, a different attitude from last week when she couldn't wait to get out of here! Her lip looks good, with the exception of some infection that has developed. Our nurses removed the infected skin and prescribed antibiotic ointment, which should get her healing back on track. It wasn't all bad news though, Christyn got to play with bubbles while she waited, and Arlyn got to catch up with some of the other moms she befriended last week! Please continue to pray for Christyn's healing! Photo of Christyn

Christyn was discharged today! We caught up with her as she and Arlyn were leaving, but by then, she was sooo over pictures and just wanted to go home. After handing over their discharge papers to guard Jenny, they headed out. We’ll see them back in a few weeks for stitches removal, when we get to see her new, healed smile! Photo of Christyn

With such little part on Christyn's face to perform surgery on, today was Dr. Dave's turn to hold a coloring pen––it's a surgical pen in purple used to sketch out a plan of action around Christyn's lip. Christyn's crayons yesterday showed her creative work, while today Dr. Dave's goal is to make Christyn even more beautiful in a longer procedure. Dr. Dave obviously likes his job as he squeezes in a cautious dance move or two as he listens to the music playing in the background! It is truly our joy to serve kids like Christyn and we look forward to seeing her transformed smile soon! Photo of Christyn

Arlyn was so excited to meet the team from Tebow CURE and Free to Smile and couldn’t stop telling us about the things that she loves about her daughter Christyn. Since Christyn loves to draw, we brought her coloring books and crayons that occupied her afternoon right after she woke up from her nap. Christyn is scheduled to go in the operating room tomorrow and we ask that you pray for her as we wait to see her newly transformed smile after surgery! Photo of Christyn
