“You are different.” Sani has heard these words so many times. He was born with cleft lip, and it’s been really hard for him. He doesn’t have many friends, and sometimes, people don’t even want to eat with him. Sani’s parents were divorced several years ago, and he lives with his uncle and sees his parents occasionally. Sani doesn’t attend school, because he has had some speech troubles. But he's a committed and devout young man and prays every day. His parents didn’t think that his lip could be fixed, until one of his relatives, also born with with cleft lip, had been operated on by one of our NGO partners. That was when they heard about CURE Hospital and came to an outreach mission in their town. We are touched by Sani’s story and hope this surgery will change his life, and that he will finally be accepted by others. We are glad to welcome him here and we are looking forward to seeing the change in his life!
Salé is doing great! His lip is healing well, and if everything keeps going that way, he will be able to go back home at the end of next week. So, please keep him in your prayers!
Sale just finished eating when we saw him this morning. It’s always impressive to see kids recovering from cleft lip surgery, they can’t smile quite yet but they still look impressive. His spirits are up and his lip is healing well, please keep praying for him!
Sale had surgery today. Everything went well and he’s now recovering! Please keep those prayers coming for him. He'll have some swelling, but we hope the pain is minimal...we'll update you more tomorrow!
This shy guy arrived at the hospital a few days ago, and already he has found friends here who can relate to his experience! We are so happy to welcome him here, and perhaps it's just a matter of time before that shyness wears off completely. He will have surgery this week, so please keep him in your prayers!
