About Tamandani
It can be really hard sometimes to get these kids to smile for the camera. It’s rather peculiar how many mothers tell us that their children are very serious and hardly ever smile so we shouldn’t be offended if they don’t smile for us. Usually a good tickle session and some teasing pouty faces on our part gets those sourpuss kids to show some teeth. We always feel extremely fortunate, however, when we find the kids who love the camera and have no problem putting their pearly whites on display for the world. Four-year-old Tamandani George happens to be one of these smiley little ones and we are grateful for it!
Tamandani was born with no problems, but everything changed after she contracted malaria last year. She was given an injection to help her fight the disease, and not long after her foot went crazy. For a while she was walking on the top of her right foot as though she had clubfoot. She had surgery in hopes of correcting that at a local hospital and after that her toes curled down and to the side, and now walks on her tip-toes.
Luckily, despite her circumstances, she still keeps a smile on her face. She is in nursery school and her mom says she is just a generally happy little girl. We are very excited that this little one is coming to have her foot sorted out, we just can’t wait to giver her something else to really smile about!

Friday April 13, 2012 - Day 105 Tamandani's treatment date has been changed to 04/09/2012 - We know she was supposed to be here this week but we haven't seen this smiley little girl yet. Pray she makes it in soon.
Tuesday April 3, 2012 - Day 77 So little time until she come to CURE! We're all ready to see this sweet little girl and to fix her foot.
