About Degmawit
Degmawit is a very happy child. She loves to play with her friends, and she is given a lot of love by her parents since she is an only child. She hasn't had any bad experiences with bullying, but her condition has hindered her in several other ways. She has never walked before, and because it is too difficult for her to go to school, she would not have a chance at an education without surgery.
Degmawit's father is a builder, and her mother stays at home with her. As we are talking, Degmawit has little to say to us, but is chatting away to her mom. She is very loving and it's obvious that she gets a lot of attention at home. We can't wait to give her a little extra when she comes here for surgery.
She needs an operation on both of her ankles. They are quick procedures, and recovery should not take long. Prayers and support would be greatly appreciated none-the-less. We cannot wait to see the results of God's work here at CURE as this little girl learns to walk for the first time in her life.

Tuesday June 26, 2012 - Day 6Degmawit's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 06/26/2012 - Degmawit left today to continue recovering at home. She'll be back next month for a check-up. Her healing process shouldn't take too long, and she'll be using those legs in no time.
Friday May 25, 2012 - Day 5Degmawit is in recovery at CURE Ethiopia - She was not very happy when she got out of surgery, but as soon as her momma came in and kissed her cheek the crying subsided. She's headed to the ward now to recover.
Thursday May 24, 2012 - Day 5Degmawit's treatment date has been changed to 05/24/2012 - She is getting surgery on both of her feet today.
