About Mizane
One of Mizane's legs is shorter than the other as a result of a car accident. When she was 9 years old, a vehicle hit her when she was crossing the street. It's a little hard to tell when she is standing still, but she is embarrassed that when she walks it shows.
Despite her condition, she does not get bullied at school. She has a lot of friends and many aspirations. She dreams of becoming a designer, and she says that her favorite thing about herself is her attitude. What she looks forward to most after surgery is "just being happier."
Mizane lives with her father who is a guard. Her parents are divorced, but as you can see from the photo with her dad, the two have a great relationship. She also has 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is the youngest of the group. Mizane is waiting until the summer to get her surgery because she wants to finish school first. She is in grade 8, which is equivalent to being a junior in high school in the states. So we will see her back here at CURE Ethiopia in July!
