About Mimetew
If you notice that Mimetew's eyes are watering in his pictures, it's because he got very emotional whenever I was learning about his story. He is a 14 year old boy that has been through so much in his life. He walks with a large stick because his leg has been bent backwards since birth.
Mimetew is now in the 4th grade, and he dreams of playing soccer whenever he leaves CURE. He says he "loves to play anything." He is also very excited just to learn more whenever he returns to school. In the past, his classes have been difficult because the other kids distract him with their cruelty.
I asked Mimetew what the other kids say to him, and he got very choked up. His father answered the question. "They call him 'broken leg boy', and it makes him angry, and he cries." Mimetew's parents comfort him, saying that he is ok how he is. When it was time to go outside to take some photos, my heart broke. Mimetew was silent while tears streamed down his face. I didn't know if it was only worsening the situation by taking pictures, but then I realized that this is the reality of the situation. He is coming to CURE so that he never has to feel this way again. I can't wait to love on him when he comes back for his surgery. Please pray for him as he begins this exciting journey.

JSON RSS- Day 76 Mimetew's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 04/24/2012 - He still didn't arrive for the last clinic. He and his family live in a very rural area, and they don't have cell phones, so it's not very possible to get ahold of them. We hope they make it back. They sort of have to in order to get that cast off of his leg. I'm sure it's just travel difficulties. Please pray that they have the means to make the trip back to CURE so Mimetew can continue his healing.
Thursday April 19, 2012 - Day 68 Mimetew didn't make it to his follow-up appointment. Hopefully he will show up next Tuesday for clinic. If not we'll try to track him down and make sure he is able to make it in for his check up.
Wednesday April 11, 2012 - Day 49 Mimetew's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 04/10/2012
Friday March 23, 2012 - Day 46 Mimetew is scheduled for followup at CURE Ethiopia - Mimetew is going to continue recovering at home. His next surgery date will be posted as soon as I can get it.
Tuesday March 20, 2012 - Day 35 Mimetew's treatment date has been changed to 03/12/2012 - He will have a cast change on Monday
