About Mikias
Mikias is your typical college student. He is studying management, and in his spare time he loves to play video games. He says that he has always had a lot of friends, and he has never really experienced any type of bullying even with his leg condition.
Mikias has had a leg and hip deformity since birth. When his mother was in labor, he was stuck inside the womb and refused to come out. When he finally did, his body had been through a lot and it caused him to develop a little differently. He still lives with both parents and his 2 siblings, but he will be happy to finish school and live on his own in the future.
Mikias walks with support from walking sticks, but he cannot wait to leave those behind when his time here at CURE is complete. This is one less obstacle standing in the way of his degree and career as well.

Monday February 27, 2012 - Day 24 Mikias is in recovery at CURE Ethiopia - Sorry for the late update; the internet has been down most of the day here, but thankfully it's back up and running. Mikias had his first surgery today on his right hip and leg. This means that he will be getting a second surgery. After he recovers, the doctors will move on to the left hip and leg.
