Children with disabilities are often rejected and stigmatized by their own communities—and sometimes even by their own families. In addition to treating their physical burdens through specialized surgical procedures, CURE works to ease their emotional burdens by ministering with the love of Jesus in word and deed.
Through bedside ministry, CURE provides compassionate care for children and families, regardless of religious or tribal affiliation. Our spiritual team visits patients and caregivers to:

More About Prayer and Bedside Ministry
Bedside ministry differs from other spiritual ministry in that it’s more personalized and conducted one-on-one while a patient rests in bed in the ward. A member of the hospital’s spiritual ministry team initiates private conversations where they get to know the child and/or caregiver more deeply, hear their story, and find out how they’ve been coping with the challenges of living with or caring for someone with a disability.
Anyone on the hospital’s spiritual ministry team can offer bedside ministry. Patients and caregivers may be approached and offered prayer, counseling, or other spiritual support by multiple people throughout any given day.
All members of the spiritual ministry team must have at least a certificate in biblical studies/theology or biblical counseling. CURE also provides additional counseling training that applies more specifically to the hospital setting, including trauma healing, discipleship, and evangelism.
