Lovemore stopped by CURE Zimbabwe to show off his new prosthetic leg and how well he has learned to control it! Dr. Rick was very impressed, and we're all super proud of how far Lovemore has come! https://youtube.com/shorts/m7bydTALOWY
"We thank God, Panenyasha is walking much better now! I've been trying to take her to school more often, and every time we go, she says one day she'll hop on a plane with Dr. Rick and see the world!" Mommy Tamary said with a big smile on her face. We bumped into Panenyasha and her mom at outpatient clinic today and it was a great time catching up! Panenyasha is feeling much better after her surgery, and came in for a review with our doctors. Dr. Rick is very pleased with her recovery and scheduled Panenyasha to come back in the new year. His plan is to continue to correct the bends in her legs, start correcting the ones in her arms and keep her bones strong to keep them straight in the long run. Thank you for your support through Panenyasha's journey, she still has a long way to go, so keep cheering her on!
"We are very grateful for everything you have done for Minenhle. We see such a big difference in her walking. God bless you and your work as you keep helping children," Minenhle's dad expressed. We stopped by Minenhle's home to visit her and her family. We took some hospital guests from the US to see her. Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado has partnered with CURE International for many years to help support our efforts to bring healing to children just like Minenhle. Her family welcomed us with open arms, and we got to spend some time and pray with them. Minenhle received a goodie bag with an Easy-To-Read Bible and a stuffed toy, among other goodies. Thank you for supporting Minenhle in this journey, and we look forward to seeing her back at the hospital next year to check up on her legs as she recovers fully.
"He's so naughty now! I try to chase him when he's in trouble. He's so fast I can't even catch him anymore!" Mummy Nondlela said with a laugh. The spiritual ministry team from CURE Zimbabwe went to see Palmson with some visitors from the US. Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado is a long-standing CURE International partner and is now the first team to visit CURE Zimbabwe! We were glad to bring them along for some home visits, which included Palmson's home. His family welcomed us in, and we had a great time of fellowship and prayer. We were so glad to see him running around! Thank you for all your support throughout Palmson's healing journey.
Meet Kelsy! She is a bubbly five-year-old who loves to run and play. After fracturing her right femur (thigh bone) when she was two, her right leg formed a deformity in her shin and foot while receiving treatment. She now walks on the toes of her right foot, unable to step with her foot flat on the ground. Although this hasn't held her back from being herself, she is unable to wear shoes or fully participate in activities with other kids. Now Kelsy is at CURE Zimbabwe receiving treatment for her right leg to help her walk, run, and play better! Please help us welcome her father and her into the CURE family! https://youtu.be/a_-7auC4XsM
