“I want to become a model! I also want to become a flight attendant!” Roselle tells us her big dreams with a big smile.

Roselle is a bubbly 16 year old teenager whose idea of fun is excelling in her academics which involves participating in extracurricular activities in school. “I join dance presentations at school and play sports with my friends. Volleyball is my favorite! However, I am afraid I might not be able to do these things anymore,” Roselle breaks down in tears while sharing.

On her way home after attending their Christmas party in school, Roselle got into an accident that broke her leg. “I was crossing the street and just as I was a few steps only from the side of the road, a drunk driver riding a motorcycle hit me,” Roselle recounts the scenario. As soon as Dad Danilo heard about what happened to her, they rushed to a regional hospital a few hours away from their city in hopes of having her daughter’s leg casted. “They only did first aid treatment and put Roselle’s leg on a splint. This did not help alleviate the pain my daughter was feeling on her leg,” says Danilo.

Fortunately, somebody who assisted them in the ambulance going back home told them about Tebow CURE where Roselle could seek help and treatment! “We ventured into going to Davao City and went to Tebow CURE Hospital during clinic and she was scheduled for a surgery. I felt so happy because God answered my prayer to send us someone to help my daughter’s situation,” Danilo tells us about their experience coming to the hospital with new hope!

Thanks to your support, we are able to bring hope to kids like Roselle!

Good news! Roselle is now able to put some weight on her leg! Today, she missed her “favorite nurse” Tzaddi but Nurse Ken and Nurse Francis had her covered for her wound dressing! We praise God for the good report that her wound site is now in the process of healing with skin beginning to cover the open area! She will still continue to check in with us every week until her wound site is fully healed! Photo of Roselle

“Did you remember the things you were saying down the OR? You were reciting Psalm 23!” Doctor Jun told Roselle to which Roselle smiled with a faint remembrance of what transpired while she was sedated yesterday. Roselle is feeling her best today with no pain at all so she was given the green light to go home, thank God! We cannot wait to see her progress next week! Photo of Roselle

Roselle was in for a sweet surprise before going down the OR this morning! She was serenaded with beautiful worship by the Brenton Brown Band—a great way to prepare for her surgery! Roselle proclaimed God’s greatness and goodness over her life in singing with tears of joy and gratitude. Afterwards, Brenton and his band had a chat with her and flashed a “wacky pose” for the camera! Thank you for your prayers, Roselle’s prayer for treatment has now been answered! Photo of Roselle

Child Mentor Patricia made a visit to Roselle’s room this morning where they watched a video entitled “Falling Plates”, an illustration of God’s love for mankind. Afterwards, Roselle read Jeremiah 29:11 and reflected on God’s plan to give her hope and a good future. Indeed, this has been true in her life as she saw God at work in sparing her from the vehicular accident and from healing her wound site. She is expectant to see another one of God’s good plan unfold in her life again as she goes down the OR tomorrow! Photo of Roselle

After multiple dressing changes and two weeks of waiting and praying, Roselle’s wounds are finally infection-free which means she is now set for surgery! She was admitted by her “favorite nurse” Tzaddi. As to why he is Roselle's favorite nurse, her reason is that "he cracks me up," she shared. Afterwards, Roselle spent her day resting as she gets ready for her big surgery this week. Thank you for praying and please continue to do so as she continues to trust God for her healing! After staying with us for a couple of days to treat Roselle’s infection, she is headed back home today! “I enjoyed my stay here at Tebow CURE Hospital,” she wrote in her journal. The doctor explained to Roselle and Daddy Danilo how important it is to treat the infection on her wound site first rather than undergoing surgery right away and risk infecting her bone which would take a very long time to heal. Before leaving, Roselle was given an antibiotic to help with her recovery and we prayed for her healing so she could finally get the surgery that she has been waiting for. For now, she will continue to recuperate at home until she heals. Please continue to pray for Roselle and we cannot wait to see her again! Photo of Roselle

Although Roselle’s surgery was postponed, she is glad that she gets to use her time here at the hospital learning about God’s word. Child Mentor Patricia shared with her the story of Daniel whom God kept safe in the lion’s den. Roselle was able to reflect upon her situation and realized how God did the same for her when the accident happened. “God gave me a second life,” she told us with gratefulness. Afterwards, she made the decision to commit not just her healing to Christ but also her life! She was gifted a bible along with a Bible reading plan and a journal to help her start knowing more about God and His will for her life as she reads it. Through your support in what we do, kids like Roselle are coming to know Jesus and His healing power! Photo of Roselle

Roselle is at Tebow CURE for her surgery! Unfortunately, as her splint was removed to get ready to go down the OR, the nurses found out that her wounds were infected and surgery had to be postponed. Upon learning this, she told us that she is “okay with holding off surgery since God has a plan and perfect timing for everything!” Would you please join us encourage and pray for Roselle’s healing so she could finally undergo surgery?
