“I just wish for my son to be treated and that he will be successful in life.” Toto shares his hopes and dreams for his son, Kenneth.

Kenneth is the youngest son of Toto. He is currently in 9th grade and his idea of fun includes Facebook and playing Mobile Legends on his phone. “When I grow up, I want to become a cook!” Kenneth tells us about his dream job. If you want to know his specialty, he cooks good chicken adobo, a popular Filipino dish of chicken marinated in vinegar, soy sauce and spices! He also loves to play basketball in his free time, but sadly, he was not able to do so in the past month.

Kenneth got into an accident last Christmas and fractured both his arm and leg. “Last December 25, Kenneth was on his way to a friend’s house. He drove my motorcycle, sped up, and lost his brakes. Not only did the accident result in a damaged motorcycle, but my son’s broken bone. We went to the local hospital where one of the doctors who attended to my son advised him to undergo surgery and introduced Tebow CURE Hospital to us. Initially, I was hesitant since we do not have the financial capacity to pay for hospitalization, most especially a major surgery but the doctor assured us that Tebow CURE will help us.” Toto recounts their experience.

Taking a leap of faith, Toto and Kenneth ventured into coming here to Tebow CURE during one of our clinics where he was told the opportunity of undergoing surgical treatment! Through your partnership with us, we get to provide Kenneth the physical and spiritual support that he needs!

Kenneth put his brave face on as Doctor Jun successfully removed his cast and pins in his arm! He learned a new set of exercises in physical therapy which will help him get back to using his arm again. We will see him again next month! Photo of Kenneth

Kenneth continues his physical therapy treatment and he got a glimpse of how his x-rays look now, after surgery. Toto and him were interested to the the images as Dr. Jun explained the sites of healing. In two weeks, Kenneth will be ready to come back and have the pins out of his hand. The hardware in his leg will take a little bit more time, but he’ll get there! Please continue to pray for Kenneth’s complete healing! Photo of Kenneth

After three weeks of just laying down and not being able to stand up, Kenneth is now able to do so with the help of Physical Therapist TJ! Since his body has not been used to standing for long periods of time, TJ advised for Kenneth to take it easy by standing up for a minute or so and taking short rest breaks in between. Kenneth will continue doing this at home with the assistance of Toto since he cannot yet put his full weight on his newly operated leg. After his physical therapy lesson, he was cleared to go home and discharged! We will see Kenneth and Toto again in four weeks! Photo of Kenneth

We were glad to see Kenneth doing well this morning! He spent his time recovering listening to Child Mentor Patricia as she shared God’s word. Kenneth learned that through Jesus, not only was his physical healing made possible but the forgiveness of his sins as well! Kenneth did not only receive the physical help that he needs but gladly accepted the spiritual healing that Jesus offers him! He prayed along with Patricia thanking Jesus for the gift of love and healing that he has received. Afterwards, Kenneth was given a Bible to help him as he starts with his faith journey! Please be praying for Kenneth that he will continue to step forward in his healing and walk with Christ! Photo of Kenneth

Kenneth was the last patient to go down to the OR this morning since his surgery would take longer than the rest. Before entering the room, Patient Ministry Coordinator Mary Ann prayed “for God’s presence to be with Kenneth and the doctors as he goes to surgery.” Afterwards, Doctor Jun and Doctor Rayray spent hours working on both Kenneth’s wrist and leg fractures. The correction done involved the use of hardware such as nails and pins to ensure that Kenneth’s bones are held in place as they heal correctly. “It is finally over,” Toto shared with a sigh of relief when Kenneth was wheeled out of the operating room. Thank you for your prayers! Photo of Kenneth

We are glad to see Kenneth laying down cozily in his bed this afternoon. He was admitted today and had a chat with Nurse Francis about his medical and health history in preparation for his surgery tomorrow. He will take a break from studying and focus on his healing for the next couple of days. Please pray for Kenneth and his surgery and that we will get to be Jesus’ hands and feet as we serve him this week! Photo of Kenneth
