CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Natasha. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Natasha. When you give a gift through Natasha's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Natasha. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Natasha's Story

“Natasha got new shoes but she can’t wear it yet. That’s something she looks forward to when she’s healed. She holds her new shoes and says, ‘One day, I’ll be able to wear you,” Natasha’s mom, Amie, tells us.

Though slow to warm up to people, Natasha is actually chatty and really friendly. “I have no problem with her. She’s very obedient. During the day, she’s in school and at home she plays with her siblings––Emmanuel and Nathaniel––and sometimes gets in a fight with them. She was born with clubfoot but never got treated until I walked by a poster that advertised a free clinic for kids with clubfeet. Then, I met the staff from Tebow CURE,” adds Amie.

Living so far away from the city, Amie didn’t expect that her daughter would get the treatment that she needed. Their location and financial situation made that seem like an impossibility. Tebow CURE is about an eight hour drive away from her home, but because of your support, what was impossible to Amie became possible as we brought healing right into Natasha’s hometown!

Soon enough, Natasha's hope to wear her new shoes will be possible! Please pray for Natasha!

Natasha has been dreaming of new shoes, and today she got some! OK, so they’re not exactly the ones she was hoping for, but she can’t be upset about the fact that she’s out of casts! Her new shoes are “boots and bars”, a pair of shoes with a bar in between to keep her feet stretched outward. A good comparison would be wearing a retainer after having dental braces removed. She only needs to wear them at night, but it’ll still take time for the family to adjust to her new routine. Please pray for continued grace and patience for this family that has gone through so much in the last few months! Photo of Natasha

Natasha came for a cast change today, and gave a look that said, “I’m so over this!” She’s not quite over yet, she has one more sets of casts to go. We are happy to report though that her parents are over the motorcycle accident they endured right before Natasha’s surgery, everyone is on the mend and doing well. Thanks for all of your prayers, soon, the entire family, Natasha included, will be healed! Photo of Natasha

Natasha got to go home today! But first, we filled her up with Get Well messages from around the globe. She was more interested in the TV show in the background, but Amie hung on every word. We found out that shortly before Natasha came to CURE, Amie and her husband got into a motorcycle accident. Amie escaped with a few minor scratches, but her husband is still in the hospital as a result. There is a lot going on for this family, please keep them all in your prayers! Photo of Natasha

Activity books, stickers and crayons kept Natasha busy during recovery with a nice view overlooking the window of our new ward. Amie tells us that she's not in pain at all and got to sleep well last night. We think it's safe to say that Natasha's recovery is going well and she will head home soon! Photo of Natasha

Natasha is one big step closer to wearing her coveted shoes! She had surgery today, which involved some cutting, pinning, x-raying, and stitching! Clubfeet don't always require pinning, but in Natasha's case, it'll help her heal straighter and faster. We had the opportunity to use our new C-arm machine once again, to make sure the pins were hitting all the right places, it's been such a huge blessing to have this technology available to us again, thanks to our awesome donors! We met Natasha at a mobile clinic where she started off with serial casting. Her first pair of casts were not easy to have but she eventually pushed through the two sets that came after and has made it to the next step––surgery! The treatment made Amie excited but Natasha wasn’t so happy to see nurses and medical staff, so she spent the rest of the afternoon in the playroom as she waits for tomorrow’s surgery. Thanks for your help! Natasha gets to start off surgery this year and will be walking with straight feet for the rest of her life! Photo of Natasha
