CURE in Malawi

The picture above is of CURE in Malawi. Everyone who serves with CURE in Malawi, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Zaibu. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Zaibu. When you give a gift through Zaibu's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Malawi. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Zaibu. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Zaibu's Story

"My son was all fine when he was born. But when his legs began to bend. Many people say it was be a curse or punishment for something bad we did in the past. I was so scared to hear this. I wished Zaibu never developed this deformity," Zaibu's mother Marium tells us with a pain behind her eyes.

Zaibu's legs began to bend outwards, a condition called bow legs, when he was still young and this changed everything for his family. Despite the discrimination their family faced for being seen as cursed, Mariam and her husband had the strength to go against convention and seek out medical care for Zaibu. They spent many long hours seeking help from health providers that were far from their home. Their perseverance eventually paid off as they met a doctor who told them about us here at CURE Malawi. Mariam and Zaibu wasted no time in coming to our hospital!

"The nurses are really caring and I love them so much! The way we have been warmly welcomed, this has really helped me to have a hopeful end result as my son will be receiving his surgery!" Marium tells us with hope slowly replacing the pain that has been there for so long.

Zaibu will have his operation soon so please join us in welcoming him and his mother!
