CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Elianna. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Elianna. When you give a gift through Elianna's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Elianna. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Meet this cute little princess called Elianna. She is just eight months old but is very bright and curious. Elianna was born with extra digits on all her limbs. She is here at CURE Children's Hospital of Kenya to have them removed.

We asked Elianna's mum Jacqueline what she felt when she held her firstborn child when she saw Elianna's condition for the first time. She told us she "was prepared for the possibility of Elianna having extra digits.” It turns out Elianna’s dad had extra digits when he was born as did both his mum and his grandmother (Eliana's paternal grandmother and great grandmother).

Elianna is here this week and Jacqueline hopes this is the only time they will need to be admitted to the hospital for this. Jacqueline is grateful to God for the opportunity for her child to be treated and have normal hands when she grows up!

Today, Elianna and her mum get to go home! We are so happy that Elianna was able to get surgery and that she can now have a normal life growing up. Hopefully her mum has been taking photos of her condition so that when she grows up, she can tell stories about her childhood and what she went through. Please thank God with us and pray for safe travels as Elianna and her parents head home! Photo of Elianna

Elianna went to the operating room today to have her extra digits removed! In this picture, the anesthetist is inserting an IV line. This part of the surgery took a little bit since Elianna is so well fed and her veins were hard to locate! But no worries, she had her IV put in and got her surgery! The surgery went well and now it's time to recover. Please pray for a smooth recovery process. Photo of Elianna

As nurse Naomi was trying to collect Elianna’s vital signs, Elianna was busy trying to figure out what was going on. She kept pressing buttons where she could and was very keen to watch everything the nurse was doing. Friends, please pray for the extra digitnremoval surgery Elianna is scheduled to have!
