CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Sunday. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Sunday. When you give a gift through Sunday's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Sunday. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

"I just want to see my daughter continue with school now that she had just started the ECDE curriculum," Christopher, Sunday's father tells us.

Sunday is a calm and collected young lady. She is the fourth born in a family of six. Having been born healthy, her parents took her to the hospital for a vaccine injection when she turned two. However, that would soon cause discomfort on her left ankle. It started to curve outwards, and since then, walking has been really painful.

Christopher, Sunday's father, learned about CURE Kenya through our work in West Pokot, where they reside. Our church partners there were able to give Christopher the dates of the next CURE mobile clinics, and Christopher made sure to bring Sunday to the next one!

Now, Sunday is at CURE Kenya for surgery to enable her to walk with her foot in a normal position. Please welcome Sunday to CURE Kenya with us!

The physiotherapy team had an easier time with Sunday as she learned how to use the walking appliances given to her earlier today. She was strolling along in the ward aisle when we caught up with her. Sunday and her dad will be discharged soon to continue her recovery at home. They will travel on the same bus as other children since they all have come from very far away. We thank you for the support, prayers, and get-well-messages you've sent. We will see them again in May. Photo of Sunday

After surgery, Sunday was watching videos from his father's phone, who had stepped out for a moment. Since she's to have minimal leg movement, Sunday made her bed area a small haven. Our spiritual team caught up with her with a stuffed animal, coloring books, and a shawl to keep her warm. We thank God for Sunday's progress. Photo of Sunday

Sunday will be going in for an Achilles tenotomy procedure. It's also sometimes called a percutaneous tenotomy, a tendo-Achilles lengthening tenotomy, or a heel cord lengthening. Sunday is the last one on the list to have surgery today. She was a bit scared since she has never been in an operating room before. We kindly ask you to pray for strength and peace for Sunday and a successful operation. Photo of Sunday

Sunday is a quiet girl. Among her siblings, she's the calmest of them all. As she starts her journey to healing and preparing for school, we ask you to kindly keep her and her dad in your prayers during their time at CURE Kenya. Photo of Sunday
