CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Rebira. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Rebira. When you give a gift through Rebira's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Rebira. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I want to finish school and become an engineer!” Rebira tells us, excitement in his eyes.

Rebira and his father Alemayehu have come to CURE Ethiopia seeking help for Rebira's hand which has several fingers all joined together. Their family has been looking for help for the past couple of years, but was not able to find any. That is until they came across some people who knew about us here at CURE!

“When he was little it didn’t bother him that much, but a while back kids in his school starts to make fun of his hand and call him names too”. Alemayehu, Rebira father, remembers before continuing, “because of that, he started to be shy and always tries to hide his hand. I’m just so glad we found a place that would give us the help we need!"

Rebira’s parents are teachers and he lives with them and his brother and sister. He is a fourth grader who loves running around and playing with his friends. Join us in welcoming the family while Rebira starts his healing journey!

Earlier today, we found Rebira walking around the ward and enjoying his morning. Unfortunately, his surgery got cancelled because, during his pre-op check, the nurses found he has a rash which could contaminate and complicate his operation. He's been sent back home with some meds and will come back in a couple of weeks for his operation. Keep this young boy in your prayers! Photo of Rebira
