CURE in Ethiopia
The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Tamirat. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Tamirat. When you give a gift through Tamirat's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Tamirat. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I used to hide him from people because I didn’t want anyone to see his hand and legs’’ Alemush, Tamirat’s mother, admits to us before continuing, “What makes me feel worse is when I have leave the house for work, I have to make his older sister miss school to stay with and look after him”.
Tamirat is a sweet young man who is the youngest of four children and was born with a deformed hand and legs that are essentially missing feet.
“When I had Tamirat, my husband told me he doesn’t want to raise him and asked me to give up our son, but instead of abandoning my child, I choose to choose my children and now I raise them by myself” Alemush remembers sadly. To provide for her family, Alemush works any odd jobs she can find. All Tamirat’s siblings are in school but because of his condition little Tamirat is unable to join them. Thankfully, a neighbor caught sight of Tamirat's condition and advised Alemush to bring him to one of our CURE Ethiopia mobile clinics that periodically take place near their home. They showed up and discovered that we can indeed help Tamirat!
Join us in welcoming this family while they start their healing journey!
Latest Updates
The time for Tamirat to head back home is here! He is doing wonderfully, and he can now continue his healing from the comfort of his home! When he returns, the cast on his right leg will be removed, and he will have an x-ray to check the healing progress. Please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery and a safe return back to the hospital!
Tamirat is still getting used to the new environment here at CURE Children's Hospital of Ethiopia. He hasn't yet started interacting with the other children in the ward, but he plays with his mom Alemush all the time. When he wants a fresh air, they go outside together and she wheels him around! Please continue praying for him as he recovers!
We found Tamirat on a wheelchair wheeling around the ward! His recovery is going so well. The pain he had from yesterday's operation is almost gone and he is in great health. Please keep on praying for him as he continues his healing!
