Here is what Abigael was able to create with help from our friends from Woodmen Valley Chapel. We are so grateful to God because the children have had so much fun this week, which has taken away much of their worry. Abigael is doing well. She will meet a physical therapist today who will take her through how to use crutches to move around so that when she goes home, she won’t struggle. Please thank God for how far Abigael has come!
Abigael went to the operating room to have a procedure to treat her foot and make it straight. The surgery went well, and the surgeons were pleased with the outcome. We are now entering a challenging time for Abigael, where she is going through recovery. We invite you to pray for her. Please pray for healing, no infection, and no pain.
Janet was in the ward enjoying a cup of tea and bread this morning when we saw her. She had a good night and has managed well. After tea, she had to see a physical therapist who gave her simple instructions on how to use a walking frame to move around. Janet did so well and has even been allowed to go home and be with the rest of the family! Please praise God with Janet, her mum, and all of us at CURE Kenya for this!
Doctor Nyambati prayed for Janet and her leg before her surgery. The huge apparatus in front of him is called a C-arm x-ray helps him see inside her leg since this procedure is minimally invasive. We are grateful for technology and the technical know-how that allows bringing transformation to these children. Janet’s operation went well, and we are full of praise for God! She needs us more now as she progresses, and we invite you to continue praying for her.
Abigael met a few of our friends from Woodmen Valley Chapel (a church in the USA) who are visiting CURE Kenya this week. Woodmen Valley Chapel helps support CURE to provide surgeries for children like Abigael, and we thank God for them. During their time in the playroom, Abigael got the chance to make new friends and color. We are grateful to the team from Woodmen Valley Chapel volunteers for bringing joy to the children this week!
