Bill hopes to help CURE make a positive impact on the lives of children with treatable disabilities in the Philippines.

Bill is an Emeritus Professor at Penn State College of Medicine and a retired Navy CAPT.  Bill and his wife Eileen—an internal medicine doctor– are the only physician couple to be elected to the Penn State Distinguished Educator Society. In 1999, Bill was selected as a POSNA traveling fellow to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Korea.  In 2016, Bill received the Distinguished Service Award for pediatric orthopaedics from the American Academy of Pediatrics.   Bill and Eileen have 5 grown children; 2 are physicians and 3 are teachers/coaches.  No grandchildren yet—but they are hopeful.
