"For the past six years, we have been going to a local hospital for cast changes. She has had 20 of them to date, but they have not helped her one bit," Priscilla explains. "I am a farmer you see, I have to tend to the fields, so I don't have the strength to carry her on my back to school. Her friends have been very helpful, but we need her to be able to manage walking on her own so she can cover the distance."
We are excited to be able to give Holiness the treatment that she needs to correct her bilateral clubfoot so that she can walk to school on two strong feet and without pain! Please join us in praying for Holiness as she begins her journey to healing!
It's a cold, rainy morning but that doesn't bother Holiness at all! She is enjoying her stay here at CURE and she is not willing to let anything stand in her way. Hopefully she gets her shoe braces this Friday so she can go home and enjoy her clubfoot free feet!
Holiness, meet Robert! It is such a lovely thing when our Curekids get along and make friends. They laugh, play with, and strengthen each other. There is no greater blessing than that which comes from finding someone who understands exactly what you're going through.
Her holiness is still in the ward for a little while. We are currently having a cleft lip and palate clinic this week, so most of the other patients like Holiness are just waiting for next week to resume the normal timetable. Let's keep those get well messages coming! Holiness loves them and giggles to each one. Thank you!
Holiness had her second procedure earlier today. As you can see, her feet are looking beautifully straight! Thanks to you all for your love and prayers. She is still in a bit of pain but is recovering well, let's keep praying for her!
Holiness had an MUA and everything went well. Dr Moyo is looking at the prospect of having her second foot operated on this week and if that goes as planned, Holiness will be under some pain for the rest of this week but will have straight feet in no time. Let's continue praying for her!
Her Holiness is happy today! Her surgery went well and these are the results. She is now currently waiting for an Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA) next week and will stay with us a while longer. We hope you are as excited as we are to walk with her!
Holiness who has been fondly nicknamed 'The Pope' by our theatre staff had surgery yesterday! The doctor performed a PMR to correct her right foot. She will be in recovery for the next few weeks, going from the ward to the clinic to straighten her leg and get cast changes until it's straight and healed. Then, and only then, will she get her other leg worked on. Let's keep praying for Holiness' healing!
Holiness is an almost six year old girl who loves to laugh! She has come for clubfoot surgery on both of her feet. Her mother wants her to have surgery so that she will be able to let her walk to school on her own. Let's pray for a successful operation and an improved quality of life for this deserving girl!
