"When I gave birth, there was this silence in the room, as though they had never seen anything like it before," Robina narrates.

Elvis was born with Encephalocele, a condition where part of the brain sticks out through an opening in that skull that failed to close properly during infant development in the womb.

"I had lost all hope, but when I came to CURE Uganda, they calmed me down and told me to go back home for a while because Elvis' weight was too low for the surgery to be done," Robina told us.

While at home, Robina took great care of Elvis! "I fed him so well! I did not even allow anyone else but me and his father to carry him. We just love him so much," Robina spoke with such affection.

Tests have been run, and Elvis is ready for surgery. Please welcome Elvis and Robina to the CURE family and pray for them they start this healing journey!

Dr. Stephen is having a moment with Robina and telling her the preparations before tomorrow’s surgery. "You are to stop breastfeeding your baby by 5:30 am and start giving him clear fluids. This is to help prevent choking during the procedure," he explained. Robina nodded in agreement. Please join us in prayer for everything to go smoothly during the surgery. Photo of Elvis
