CURE in Uganda

The picture above is of CURE in Uganda. Everyone who serves with CURE in Uganda, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Hanmad. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Hanmad. When you give a gift through Hanmad's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Uganda. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Hanmad. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

"I was told that treatment at CURE hospital was really expensive and that really messed me up," Saldati told us.

Hanmad's head kept growing bigger and bigger and Saldati got more desperate each day. Deserted by her husband, Saldati had nowhere to go.
Word spread around the village about the dire situation she was going through and well-wishers sponsored her trip to CURE.

"I am glad I made it here, I was warmly welcomed." Saldati paused for a moment and suddenly broke into tears.

Hanmad has hydrocephalus, a condition where the brain produces excess fluid than the body can get rid of. This leads to so much pressure building up around the brain thus causing the soft skull to expand in size and other complications such as blindness and can only be treated through surgery which Hanmad is scheduled to have tomorrow.

"I am scared," Saldati said amidst tears, one of us took a moment to comfort her and told her God is in control.

It's not easy for Saldati, please take a moment and send through your message of encouragement and add her and Hanmad to your prayer list.

Hanmad is having a peaceful sleep after having his lunch. His surgery has been postponed, as our medical team reviews samples from the lab. We shared your messages, with Saldati. She read, took a deep sigh, smiled, and said "Thank you." Please continue praying that all will go well with Hanmad's surgery. Photo of Hanmad

Dr Stephen having a moment with Saldati, telling her the preparations before tomorrow’s surgery. "You are to stop breastfeeding your baby by 5:30 am and start giving him clear fluids." He said, "This is to help prevent chocking during the procedure," he explained. Saldati nodded with agreement. Please join us in prayer for everything to go on successfully. Photo of Hanmad
