We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Francis. When you give a gift through Francis's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Uganda. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. “Everyday I pray for my child’s healing and now that I am here, I believe that God has started to work,” said Rose. She says that in her village she has only seen two children with hydrocephalus, her son Francis and another child called Shakuru who is also at CURE Hospital. Rose and Shakuru’s mother Getrida are neighbours back at home and they were supposed to travel together, but Rose didn’t get her transport money on time so Getrida and Shakuru came first. In their village some people have been very discouraging, saying that Francis was affected by spirits, however, there are some people like Getrida who believed that this is a medical condition so they advised Rose to bring Francis to CURE for treatment. Rose has two children, her firstborn is called George and he is healthy and is two and a half years old. Rose says that she plans for Francis to have a normal life, study, and become a teacher or a doctor. This will only be possible if he has this life changing surgery, so please support and pray for him!

“I see a difference in Francis. The head has now gone down, when we came the head was big,” said Rose. Francis is doing well, he has no fevers and is feeding well. His doctors and nurses will teach Rose how to dress the pressure sores on his head and tomorrow Rose thinks they will get to go home which makes her feel encouraged. Rose has been spending time in prayer and tells us, ”I have been praying that God will make my child well.” Please join Rose in praying for Francis, that he will continue to improve and for them to be able to go home tomorrow. “They have told me they will operate on the child tomorrow. I am happy with the news! I feel happy that finally they will perform surgery on my baby,” said Rose. This morning during ward rounds Rose was told that Francis would have surgery tomorrow, this afternoon Francis’ doctors will meet with Rose to explain the details of tomorrows operation. Francis took a bath today which he really disliked, however after the bath he got to play with Rose. He enjoys it when she claps for him. Rose is kindly requesting this prayer, “I want people to pray for my baby to get better.” Let's join Rose as she prays for the healing and recovering of her son! Photo of Francis
