What am I giving to?

CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like James. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like James. When you give a gift through James's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with James. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I want to become a cop but I now have a broken leg so I don’t know about that. Maybe I’ll become an engineer instead,” says James.

James is a 10 year old kid with a chatty personality! He is an incoming 5th grader but he is not in school at the moment since classes have been postponed due to the pandemic. During his free time, he loves to play! “I like playing computer games, most especially Roblox!” he tells us. He also loves to play tag, run around, and ride his bicycle around the neighborhood with his playmates. He is someone who loves to be on the move, but this has changed last month when he had his accident. “I was cycling with my friend one afternoon. We decided to race and as I was passing through an intersection, a motorcycle hit me,” James recounts. Due to this unfortunate incident, James fell off his bicycle and broke his leg. “We brought him to a nearby hospital but all they did was clean his wounds and told us he needs surgery before sending us away. Since then, James hasn’t been able to do much other than just lay down,” his mother Maricel shares.

Thankfully, one of James’ teachers found out about his dilemma and told James' family about us here at Tebow CURE. They came and found we can give James the surgery he needs. “I am excited to undergo surgery so I can run around and cook turon (deep fried banan in spring roll wrappers), hotdogs, and fried eggs with my dad,” James tells us. Please join us in helping James get back to his normal routine and fulfill his God-given dreams!

James visited us for his follow up appointment. Since he has’t been back up on his feet for almost two months, he needs to regain mobility on his operated leg. He spent time with physical therapist TJ and did some leg raises and foot exercises to strengthen his muscles. Please continue to pray that he will be back on his feet by the time we see him next month! Thanks! Photo of James

James is feeling much better now and his pain was more manageable thanks to his surgery! He also received the good news that he can now go home to rest and recover. Not only that, but he was also told another great news as Child Mentor Patricia shared the physical and spiritual healing that Jesus Christ offers. James expressed his faith and gratitude through pray as he surrendered his life to the Greatest Healer! Patricia also made sure to give him a Bible to encourage him in his faith journey. Because of your partnership in what we do, we not only get to journey with our patients in their healing and recovery ,but we also get to walk with them as they grow in their relationship with God! Thank you! He will be back in two weeks for a follow-up! Photo of James

James visited the operating room for his big surgery day! The medical team delicately reconstructed his tibia (the bone in the lower part of the leg) back and secured the pieces in place with a metal plate. This is to ensure that his bones stay in the proper alignment as they heal and grow back together. Thank you for your prayers. James' surgery was a success and he is now back in the ward! Help us welcome James! He came to Tebow CURE early this morning for admission. To ensure that he is healthy and fit for surgery, he and Maricel underwent rapid blood testing and we praise God that their results came back negative. James is now in the ward resting. “I like it here! It’s so cold because of air conditioning,” James told us when we asked him how he feels about being in the hospital. Please include James and Maricel in your prayers that they will experience Christ’s love and healing as they spend the next few days with us in the hospital. Photo of James
