“My name is Arjilo. When I grow up, I want to become a doctor! I am not afraid to get casted because I want to be healed. Someday, I will be able to wear shoes!”

Arjilo is the only child to single mom Erlenda—who sees Arjilo as her pride and joy. “Arjilo may walk differently because of his clubfoot, but nothing stops him! He recites poems. He loves to sing and he can dance to any beat! He is really smart and very sharp,” Erlenda tells us.

We were privileged to meet Arjilio and Erlenda at a mobile clinic partnered with the Bethel Baptist Hospital in Malaybalay, Bukidnon. “The mobile clinic is how we were introduced with Tebow CURE and the opportunity for Arjilo’s foot to become straight again! He had a series of casting when he was seven months old at a local clinic. Each visit cost us P1000 (about $20) and it added up. When it was finally over, we couldn’t afford to buy a brace for the next step of his treatment. So his foot curved back,” Erlenda adds.

“I don’t remember how it was like the first time I got casted. But now, I am not afraid of casting. I get bullied in school and get called out by the way I walk. I don’t want that to happen anymore,” Arjilo bravely tells us.

Because of your support to Tebow CURE, we get to bring the opportunity of becoming fully healed to kids like Arjilo! At CURE, we are reminded that God is filled with second chances to those who are in need!

We got ready at the Nurse's station to read Arjilo's Get Well messages from many of you today when we found out that his name wasn't on the board! He slipped out late last night after getting discharged. It seems like he's back to being on-the-go and will continue to heal at home. In a few weeks, we'll see the progress on his foot and determine if he's going to be cast free! Then, Arjilo will catch up on reading all of your get well wishes! Thanks for covering him in prayers! He's almost there! Photo of Arjilo

Far from our usual on-the-go and always-on-the-move Arjilo, we found him resting and snoring in the recovery room after surgery this morning. Nurse Jalee tried to make him guess how many fingers she holding up just when he started to wake up. But his pain medicine still was making him feel a little loopy. So far, he’s doing OK back in the ward and we hope that Arjilo bounces back quickly in recovery! Photo of Arjilo

Arjilo loaded up on his favorite meal for lunch—rice! It's good that he's eating well now, since he will undergo a fast, starting tonight for his surgery tomorrow! "I'm ready!" Arjilo told us when we asked how he felt about having surgery soon! He's halfway through his healing process and we will continue to pray for him as he finishes well! Photo of Arjilo

“We’re all allowed a grumpy day sometimes!” Nurse Tzaddi told Arjilo during his cast change today. Arjilo’s characteristic grin was sorely missing today, he just wasn’t in the mood. He lightened up a little in the playroom, but overall, we think he’s about finished mentally with the whole process. The good news is, he is so close to being ready for surgery, his foot is looking amazing! Photo of Arjilo

Arjilo missed his appointment last week because of some transportation issues. This week though, Arjilo was thankful that his aunt could bring him in not only to continue with treatment but also to play with legos! Arjilo definitely has a child-like faith and joy towards his healing process. It's a privilege to be a part of his healing, so we thank you for supporting us to serve kids like Arjilo! “I taped his casts because it’s about to come off! Nothing stops him!” Erlinda told us. Good thing he’s due for a cast change, which marks off another step to healing. Nurse Francis and Arjilo gave each other a hi-five for being so brave as he moved forward to becoming fully healed. As we approach this Easter weekend, please pray that Arjilo may know the healing touch of Christ here at Tebow CURE, which is made possible because of His sacrifice on the cross! Photo of Arjilo

"You don't need to be scared. God is with you!" said Erlinda to encourage Arjilo. And to make casting more bearable, the rest of the staff joined Arjilo in singing his favorite songs! Arjilo has a few more weeks of casting to go, please pray with us that he will continue to push through singing songs of praise as he trusts that God is the One who takes his pain away! “Ironman is my favorite superhero, because he can fly!” Arjilo told us today as he colored in the playroom. So, if the doctor plan doesn’t pan out, at least he has a backup. We think being Ironman is a perfectly acceptable substitute! Arjilo’s one step closer to a new, improved body after today’s cast change, which he was super brave about! Photo of Arjilo

Arjilo met Dr. Ray Ray in clinic and he introduced himself as "Arjilo—an aspiring doctor!" His healing journey started today as he starts a series of casting. He braved through his first cast and we hope that he continues to build up courage as he goes through the following cast changes! As we provide for Arjilo's medical needs, please pray for many opportunities to share the truth of God's Word to Arjilo and his mom Erlenda! Photo of Arjilo
