CURE in Niger
The picture above is of CURE in Niger. Everyone who serves with CURE in Niger, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Fati. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Fati. When you give a gift through Fati's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Niger. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Fati. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Fati was just two years old when she accidentally dunked her hand into a pot of boiling water her mom had been heating to eventually warm Fati's bath. Fati's mom had momentarily left the pot in order to fetch more water and in that brief moment, Fati's life changed. Fati's screams brought her mother running back, but the burns to Fati's hand were instant and bad. Their local hospital was able to help Fati heal, but they weren't able to prevent Fati's melted skin from healing over the inside of her knuckles, making Fati unable to straighten her fingers.
In the 14 years since the accident, Fati has had to struggle through not only the physical limitations of having a less than functional hand, but also the emotional stress of being different than everyone else. Her peers often laugh at her and mock her, which makes leaving the house an unattractive prospect - she spends most of her time at home.
Fortunately, just a week ago, Fati came to visit a relative who lives near us here at CURE Niger. One of this relative's neighbors saw Fati's hand and recommended she come show it to our doctors. Fati did this and was amazed that we can help her. After 14 years of yearning, Fati's life is about to change!
Latest Updates
Fati is finished with the bandage wrap and her fingers are perfectly healed. The consulting doctor sent her to the physical therapist to start the massage and be taught how to do the massage herself at home. Her healing is progressing very well. Let us continue to pray for her total healing.
The nurse in charge who told us that Fati's hand is healing well. Slowly but surely. Let us continue to pray for her so that God will perfect her health!
Fati is back for yet another bandage change. It's a long process with many bandage changes and wound cleanings but they're all important in order to make sure she heals properly! Please pray for patient and perseverance for her!
