The picture above is of CURE in Niger. Everyone who serves with CURE in Niger, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Saif. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Saif. When you give a gift through Saif's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Niger. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Saif. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I feel like it is all my fault,” Saif’s mother, Zeinab confesses to us. “If I had been able to protect him, he would still be able to write, to put on his own shoes, and to play with his friends.” When Saif was still just a toddler, he ran outside when a family friend was coming over to visit and in a moment of toddler naiveté, he placed his hand firmly on the still hot exhaust of the friend’s motorcycle. Saif’s hand was severely burned resulting in his family rushing him to the hospital. While the burn was treated, it healed in a way where his fingers are permanently pulled down towards his palm. Thankfully, Saif’s family found out about us here at CURE Niger through one of our medical outreaches to their part of the country. Now that Saif is with us, our medical staff will treat his hand and allow him to return home capable of writing, tying his own shoes, playing, and so much more!

Saif's a little bit sore, but ultimately doing well. He's taken to drinking a ton of milk just to make sure he doesn't break a bone somewhere down the line and have to do that surgery thing again! Photo of Saif

Our man's surgery went off without a hitch. The medical staff released the skin holding his fingers to his palm and he's now back in the ward recovering. He'll be sore for a little bit, but he should be back to being himself soon! Photo of Saif
