CUREkids Updates

Salamatou
Niger - Age 16
Salamatou is recovering very well after surgery to improve mobility in her right arm and hand, thanks to your prayers and encouragement. "I see much progress in the healing of my arm. I thank God and the people at CURE who encourage me,” said Salamatou. Before leaving for home, Roumana, one of our nurses, changed Salamatou's bandage and advised her not to get water on it and to take care of it so the healing would be perfect. Salamatou will be back in a week for a follow-up visit. Please continue to pray for her recovery. Stay blessed!

Emmanuel
Niger - Infant
Emmanuel is healing well after surgery to repair his cleft lip! He and his mom returned to the guesthouse to stay so the medical team can continue to monitor his healing and change his bandages daily. "His face has already changed; it’s wonderful," says his mom, Yonroira. "I'm thankful to CURE Niger for this wonderful work and the love they show my child and me." Thank you for supporting CURE and making surgery possible for children like Emmanuel. Bless you all for what you do!

Moctar
Niger - Age 12
Dr. Uli started the surgery to correct Moctar's arm, which was broken in an accident, by praying. “We can’t do anything without Him. God is our guidance,” she said to the rest of the medical team. Dr. Uli performed an osteotomy by removing the implant and adjusting the flexion. Then, she did a bone graft on Moctar’s arm. Thank God that all went successfully. Moctor is back in the ward now, resting and continuing his medications. Your support helps CURE achieve our goal of healing children living with disabilities. Thank you, and may the Lord Jesus bless you!

Souraya
Niger - Age 12
After a few days of rest and medication, Souraya will return to the operating room. After consulting her x-ray, Dr. Uli says the pins on her right leg need changing. So Souraya, seeing her recovery progress, is happy that she'll go to the operating room again to have her leg corrected. Before going in, Souraya said she remembered the story that she was told by Slamatou, CURE Niger’s child mentor, where Jesus calmed the storm. The staff encouraged her by saying Jesus would calm all her leg problems and that many people supported her. Please encourage her with prayers and kind messages. Thank you!

Kadidja
Niger - Age 12
Kadidja was released from CURE Niger to go home after spending several days being supervised in the guesthouse. Dr. Uli and the medical team changed her cast in the operating room. "I'm amazed that my legs are straightening up, and I know people in my village will also be amazed at this sudden change. Thank you to the people who are praying for me and supporting me,” shared Kadidja as Halima, the Niger guesthouse manager, offered her some biblical encouragement. Halima prayed for Kadidja and asked her to pray for anything she wanted in Jesus's name. "Jesus loves you, and you see how he is changing your life. Amazing, right?” Halima told her. Kadidja left with a smile that she didn't come to CURE Niger with. We are grateful for your support for children like Kadidja. Continue please to pray for her recovery; she will return in a month for a follow-up appointment. May God bless you!
