What am I giving to?

CURE in Malawi

The picture above is of CURE in Malawi. Everyone who serves with CURE in Malawi, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Rabia. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Rabia. When you give a gift through Rabia's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Malawi. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Rabia. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“Even though I feel so much pain, I still go and attend classes at school. I had to repeat one a year and my performance has been going down.” Rabia

Rabia has come to CURE Malawi for the treatment of her right upper arm infection. “It has been four years now (that) my daughter complains about her arm. We have tried to go and seek medical help in our local hospital. After a year going back and forth with Rabia’s condition, (there) seems (to be) very little improvement,” Elizabeth, Rabia’s mother, told us.

“I do believe God has His healing at this place, and I have seen how CURE Malawi respects and honor(s) praying," Elizabeth continued. "My daughter surely will be healed! Even though we are from (a) different denomination, but, I have come to love and believe what I have seen at CURE Malawi." Our doctors saw Rabia at a local hospital and then she was booked to undergo an operation here at CURE Malawi. Elizabeth said it has been her desire to get to a place like this where children are cared for and given another chance to see life with hope from both sides, both spiritually and physically. Now that Rabia is here, we believe that her infection will be healed and Jesus will touch her in a special way.

“I love the meals!” Elizabeth gave a great smile sharing with us one of her favorite things here: the kitchen! CURE Malawi gives free meals to our patients and their guardians and this has really helped to build a nourishing diet for them. Please remember Rabia and her mother Elizabeth in your prayers as they spend time at CURE Malawi!

Last week we went to see some of our past and future patients at our clinic in Mangochi and guess who we ran into? Rabia!! She was so happy to be remembered by the staff from CURE Malawi and said she really missed the people at the hospital. We even let her video call staff member Thandy from CUREkids while she waited. Rabia was advised to come back to the hospital for physical therapy. It's really important she keep up with physical therapy since her arm is still stiff, but she doesn't want to travel just for physio so we had to encourage and remind her of her love for people at the hospital. Let's join together to pray she comes to the hospital to continue her healing, and if not, that she continue her physio and healing at home! Photo of Rabia

Rabia continues getting better! Yesterday, she wasn't feeling all that hot, but today she shines! We believe your prayers and support are working a miracle. Rabia will soon have her wound inspection and, depending on what the doctors see, they'll make the call on whether she can go home or not! Photo of Rabia

Rabia's operation went successfully! Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Rabia will be having wound dressing changes starting from today and this morning the nurses said her wound is clean. Continue to keep Rabia in your prayers as she heals! Photo of Rabia

Welcome Rabia! Her home is far from CURE Malawi and she's here for treatment of her infected right arm. Rabia came with her mother Elizabeth, and we are so grateful that they came because many would see this trip as too far and too expensive. But, despite all of this, Elizabeth saved some money and worked hard to come this far for her daughter's treatment. Rabia is in the fifth grade, and we hope that by the time school opens in September, her arm will be healed in Jesus' name! Please help us to pray and support Rabia while she is here at CURE Malawi.
