CURE in Kenya
The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Faith. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Faith. When you give a gift through Faith's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Faith. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Meet Faith, a little girl who was born with spina bifida. When she was little, she had a surgery for her back and after her surgery is when her mum, Beatrice, recalled noticing that there was a problem with her leg. Faith’s left leg is curved and when Beatrice went to hospital to find out what happened, she was told that Faith was born that way and she just hadn’t noticed.
Faith and Beatrice come from an area where it is believed that disability is the work of witchdoctors. You can imagine how hard it is to be seen with a disabled child. Faith’s mum however is very strong and does not allow this to bother her too much. She absolutely loves her little daughter.
Faith is at CURE Kenya now and she needs surgery to make her leg straight. Please pray with us that the operation will be successful.
Latest Updates
Beatrice wheeled her daughter out to bask in the morning sun today. As they were outside, CURE security guard Peter realized that the brakes on Faith’s wheelchair weren’t properly engaged. He showed Faith how to do it, so that next time she can do it on her own and avoid any accidents. Faith is doing well, and we thank God for her healing process.
Look who is already doing well and recovering in the ward! Faith had company today, which she really enjoyed. Faith and her friend had fun singing and playing together. Faith currently doesn’t have a complete cast. Her current cast is just to be able to observe how her surgical site is doing. She will have a complete cast applied before she can leave to go home.
Very early this morning, Faith was among the very first children to be taken to the operating room to have surgery. By the time we were alerted, she was finished and already being wheeled back to the ward. She was a bit feisty, as she didn't know where she was and what was happening because of the anesthetic drugs, and we didn't want to show her in that state.
Her surgery, which was all about making her leg straight, was successful. After she is completely healed, she’ll be able to wear shoes like all other kids her age.
