CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Emran. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Emran. When you give a gift through Emran's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Emran. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I want to be a doctor when I grow up!” proclaims Emran.

Emran and his mother Teyba came to CURE Ethiopia seeking help for Emran’s foot problem. He was born with an extra toe on both of his feet, and the second and third toes are stuck together too. His condition makes walking painful and wearing the shoes he likes is impossible for him. “In my culture, we accept what our Creator gave us and I didn’t think of taking him to any hospital at first, but his teachers in his school convinced me to seek treatment and they are the ones who told me about the hospital.” Emran’s mother Teyba explained.

Emran is in school and he is a second grader who loves running around playing, but most of the time his foot problem gets in the way of that. Please join us in welcoming Emran while he starts his healing journey!

Emran went back home over the weekend! The doctors saw a great healing progress on his toes and decided to send him back home so that he could continue his healing from there. Unfortunately, we weren't able to grab a photo just before he left, but we will see him again in a couple of weeks when he returns for another check-up!

Emran is doing wonderful! He has another trip to the OR for a cast change so the doctors could see the healing progress on his toes. But before going in there, we found him on his wheelchair wheeling around and having fun! Please keep praying for him! Photo of Emran

Emran's surgery was a success! Dr. Teddy and Dr. Bekalu did a beautiful job removing the extra bone on the first toe and reconstructing it. Now, Emran is back in the ward resting and recovering. Please keep this young boy in your prayers as he continues to recover! Photo of Emran

It didn't take Emran that much time to find the swing! Earlier this morning, before going in to the OR, we found him playing and having fun. He is taking everything step by step and today he is having his first surgery on his left foot, please keep this young boy in your prayers! Photo of Emran
