"I saw the swelling on her leg when she was just eight months old” says Jeware, Rahma’s mother, who continues, "I was so sad at the time but I'm glad I have found a place that will help us heal our daughter!"

Little Rahma has come to CURE Ethiopia her mother Jeware seeking help for her leg problem. “After we saw the problem, we took her to a hospital and she had an operation. We stayed in a hospital for a long time, but it did not help heal my little girl.” Jeware remembers. Frustrated with the lack of results, Rahma's family decided to take her to another city and the hospital they found there referred them here to us at CURE Ethiopia! “A lot of people in our village told us we were making the wrong decision taking her to a hospital. They told us we would just make everything worse by doing this, but I know we did the right thing by not taking her to a traditional healer and I’m glad we are here now” Jeware shares proudly.

Rahma lives with her parents and her older sister. Jeware stays at home taking care of the children and Rahma's father is a teacher. For now, Rahma is too little to start school but the family is looking forward to the day Rahma is healed and will be able to walk to school just like her sister. Join us in welcoming the family while they start their healing journey!

Little Rahma was so focused on her game, that the whole world faded away. She didn't quite seem to grasp the point of the game so her mother Jeware tried to help her, but she wasn't having any of it. She wanted to figure it out all by herself. She is doing a couple of exercises with the help of our physical therapist and she is doing a wonderful job! Keep on praying for this sweet child! Now, Rahma and her mother Jeware have come here to CURE Ethiopia to get ready for her surgery. She is having an operation on her left tibia and will have a frame installed to slowly correct the bone. Unfortunately, Rahma's surgery got canceled. We noticed she was a little under the weather so we ran some tests and she's got a small cold. It's not a big deal, but she has to be at full health in order to get her surgery or else there can be dangerous complications. She's been discharged home and we will see her again in mid November. Please pray she'll be in tip top shape then and can be scheduled for surgery! Photo of Rahma
