“I want to be a doctor when I grow up!” proclaims Fikadu.

Fikadu came to the CURE Ethiopia hospital with his sister Sisay seeking help for his burn contractures. When Fikadu was less than a year old there was an accident in his home and he was burned by a fire on his left arm and leg. His family took him to a hospital right away but the help he received did not heal his arm and leg, it left him with a contracture on both his arm and knee. The family heard about our hospital from a previous patient of ours and they came to CURE. Fikadu used to live in a rural area with his parents but recently his older sister Sisay brought him to the capital to get treatment. He was in the second grade last year but stopped his school to follow-up with his treatment and wants to go back once he is done with his healing. Fikadu’s parents are farmers and he has two brothers and three sisters. Join us in welcoming Fikadu while he starts his healing journey!
