Pastor Phoebe shared a word and prayed with Classine and her mother Mary just before they were discharged. There's unfortunately been a hiccup. Classine had another x-ray confirming her ankle is as it should be, but when the doctors look at the outside of her foot, there are some definite abnormalities. So they've discharged Classine and referred her to one of our nearby partner hospitals to get a CT scan before coming back to CURE Kenya on Friday. This scan will, Lord willing, give our doctors the information they need to make the best decision about how to move forward. Please be praying for patience and wisdom for all involved. they look at her physically, they can see her right foot curving outward more than normal. The doctors have requested and advised Mary to come back with a CT scan that will play a big role in giving the greenlight for surgery or not. Kindly pray with us for a positive result that will help Classine get her healing on track.
Mary was resting in the ward with her cousin Lydia who literally supported her to help her find a comfortable sitting position. Mary's physical therapy sessions will start tomorrow after she's had today to recover and get some strength back. We thank God for her progress!
We caught up with Classine in the ward earlier today as she played with 'Precious' her new teddy bear. Classine wasn't able to get into surgery today as there were a few very complicated cases that needed to be taken care of, but we're praying she get's in shortly!
The doctors were stitching Mary's wound after her knee correction was done in the operating room. Mary's bones were corrected and then she had a metal plate and screws inserted to stabilize the cut bones. She will be in a cast for six to eight weeks until the bones heal. During this period, Mary will not be allowed to move and will have to rest with minimal leg movement. We thank God for the successful surgery and pray for her recovery to be seamless!
