Mobility & Assistive Device Fitting

Providing custom-fitted devices children need to navigate the world around them

For children with disabilities, lack of mobility is the primary factor contributing to their lack of independence and opportunities. Children unable to participate in community life, help with chores, or attend school are even more vulnerable to neglect, abuse, and a lifetime of poverty. There are solutions, such as assistive mobility devices and clinical rehabilitative care, which can drastically improve the quality of life for children with disabilities.

About Mobility & Assistive Devices

CURE’s comprehensive approach to care doesn’t just happen inside the operating room. Both before and after surgery, we make sure children and their families have the tools they need to maximize healing by providing, on average, 5,000 assistive devices each year. From wheelchairs and crutches to prosthetics and braces, we provide children with the custom-fitted tools and devices they need to navigate the world around them. This improves their mobility and opens up new possibilities like engaging in their village, riding public transportation, attending school, or finding meaningful work.

From their first meeting with a doctor to diagnostic testing and physical therapy, CURE is committed to ensuring children and families are prepared before, during, and after surgery.
