Dr. Emmanuel Wegoye serves as the medical director at the CURE Children’s Hospital of Uganda. In this role, he is responsible for setting and maintaining the highest standards of lifesaving surgical and medical care for the patients CURE Uganda treats.
Dr. Emma completed medical school at Uganda’s Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He completed his master’s in neurosurgery and fellowship training at the University of Cape Town. Prior to joining CURE, Dr. Emma served at BethanyKids at AIC Kijabe Hospital, where he was head of pediatric neurosurgery.
Dr. Emma and his wife, Florence, have three children.
Joshua Menya serves as the program manager for CURE Neuro in Uganda. He runs the day-to-day operations of the program, including the management of the global staff in Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, and monitors and evaluates the efficacy of the program and partner treatment locations.
Before joining CURE, Joshua worked as a technology training officer and monitoring and evaluation coordinator at Spark MicroGrants in Uganda.
Joshua has a bachelor’s degree in computational sciences from Uganda Christian University, a postgraduate degree in project planning and management from Makerere University Business School, and an MBA from Uganda Christian University.
He enjoys working with CURE because of the spiritual ministry we provide, in addition to the medical care.
Outside work, Joshua loves to spend time with his wife, Mariam, and his three wonderful boys: Nathan, Mitch, and Jayden.
Esseli serves as Senior Program Coordinator for CURE Neuro in Uganda. In this position, she coordinates travel, logistics, and licenses for the doctors completing fellowships at the hospitals. She also supports the care coordinators, receives and reviews data reports, and coordinates equipment orders for all CURE Neuro partner treatment locations.
Prior to her current role, Esseli was an Administrative Assistant at CURE Uganda and then a Program Coordinator and Senior Program Coordinator for CURE Neuro. She has an undergraduate degree from Kyambongo University and postgraduate degrees from University of the Western Cape and Uganda Management Institute.
Esseli enjoys being part of what God is doing through CURE to bring healing and restore the brokenhearted.
Outside of her work at CURE, Esseli likes serving at her local church and spending time with her husband, Ivan.
