Christmas in Kenya
What is Christmas like in Kenya? Christmas in Kenya is a time for sharing and coming together to help the less fortunate. It is common to see groups visiting children’s homes bringing food, clothes, and other needed supplies. The weather in Kenya, during Christmas, is usually sunny and warm in most parts of the country. […]
More powerful and relevant than any trending post
Last December, the Tebow CURE Hospital went viral online and was even featured during a segment on the local news! With the participation of staff from each floor, we held a Christmas decor contest. The rules: staff members could only use recycled materials to deck the halls. The local news caught wind of our unique […]

In Niger, there is a curiosity about Christmas. So, CURE Niger hosted their second annual Christmas party and invited staff and patients to attend and learn about the birth of Jesus!
Mead Minutes: Merry Christmas!
Sometimes amidst the glitter and noise, the reason we celebrate is lost. Christmas should be a season of “awe and wonder.” When Christ was born, there were no Christmas sales going on. No one decided to place inflatable Santas or colored lights at their homes. Mary and Joseph were weary travelers coming to Bethlehem by government decree. No family offered them a place to stay. No hotel had a room. Imagine delivering a child in a barn.
Mead Minutes: Merry Christmas!
As we draw close to Christmas, I always feel a tension present. There is the joy of celebration and remembering why we have Christmas. People tend to focus on the Christ child, but stores, ads, and events also bombard us with ‘must get’ or must do’ needs that push a hectic pace.

Three Magi in Niger
Believe it or not, sometimes it is hard to find a cast to decorate at the hospital.
Sometimes we have a lot of patients at once who don’t need to wear a cast and instead sport gauze wraps or bandages or slings or braces. We always try to adorn whatever we find, but there is no denying that plaster casts are the best material to work with. The kids feel the same way—sometimes they are disappointed if they do not get a cast put on, and they are always excited to come to the art therapy room when they have a leg or arm that is newly casted.
Mead Minutes: Why CURE?
Over the years I have witnessed the restoration and transformation of lives through CURE’s work. CURE also shares these goals, teaching doctors, nurses, community workers, pastors, and others about the needs of those with physical disabilities. Will we be able to care for every disabled child in every country? No, of course not! BUT… we can help some.
Mead Minutes: The gift of grace
Christmas is indeed a time to celebrate. Because God loves us, we should reach out to others in His love. Mere words are never enough for a gift this grand. We live by and in God’s grace.
