Alex is a Scrub Technician at CURE Uganda, but he didn’t always work at a hospital. Before CURE, he worked in construction. However, a gesture from his neighbor would eventually land him on a different, but desired path.

I was never one of those kids who knew what they wanted to do when they grew up. I was the kid who had an early introduction to the look of disappointment that results from answering that question with “…I don’t know?” and then making something up to fill the awkward void. “Maybe a teacher?”
