Andrew Amata

Consultant Anesthesiologist / Zambia

Andrew is an internationally experienced anesthesiologist. Prior to joining CURE, he served in Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies.  Over the years, Andrew has served in a variety of locations including Guyana, Kenya, United States, Nigeria, United Kingdom, and Burkina Faso.  He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Anesthesiology from the University of Benin in Nigeria, and completed fellowships in pediatric anesthesiology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, USA; pain management at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA; and traditional Chinese Medicine from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.  In 2006, he board certified with the American Board of Hospice & Palliative Medicine.


Stephen Chishmba

Project Manager - ENT / Zambia

Stephen serves as a Project Manager for CURE Zambia. In this role, he manages the ENT cases and is a member of the Senior Management Team. Stephen has served the hospital for 6 years and is trained in finance with a Chartered Accountant Zambia application-level qualification. He has 13 years of experience in financial and project management and has previously worked for two other organizations in Zambia prior to joining CURE.

Stephen considers working for CURE Zambia a blessing and a great opportunity to contribute towards the treatment and care of children with disabilities.


Dr. Felicidad Felicilda

Consultant ENT Surgeon / Zambia

Felicidad C. Felicilda, MD, is an experienced ENT (ear, nose, and throat) – head and neck surgeon. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine degree from Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu, Philippines, and completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery from Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila, Philippines. He has been Chairman of the Department of ENT – Head and Neck Surgery at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and Southwestern University College of Medicine. Dr. Felicilda joined CURE International in 2019.

He and his wife, Rhodora, have followed God’s calling to serve Him in the ministry. Dr. Felicilda has served as pastor of Talisay Bible Baptist Church from 2001 to 2006. He and Rhodora then served as long-term missionaries to the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo from 2007 to 2018, planting churches and a Bible school. He was also involved in training the local doctors in otolaryngology both at the University of Lubumbashi and Shalina Hospital, DRC.

Juliane Hachaambwa

Nurse Matron / Zambia

Juliane Hachaambwa serves as Nurse Matron at CURE Zambia. In this role, she oversees the nursing department at Cure Zambia. Juliane has been a Nurse Matron at CURE Zambia since 2015. Prior to joining CURE, Juliane worked as a nurse in the USA. She worked at two magnet designated hospitals, Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, and Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York. While at Highland Hospital, Juliane worked at Evarts Joint Center, which is part of the University of Rochester Medicine. The center is highly ranked for NIH research.

Juliane holds a Master of Public health degree (MPH) from the University of Zambia, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Bethel University in St Paul Minnesota, USA. She is happily married with 3 girls.

Frida Kabasco

Executive Director / Zambia

Frida serves as Executive Director for CURE Zambia. In this role, she maintains overall accountability for the operational, financial, spiritual, and clinical health of the hospital. Frida holds an MSC in Development Management from Open University (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Zambia. Previously, she has spent much of her career at International NGO’s and has worked as the Country Director for Voluntary Services Overseas, ActionAid, and mothers2mothers.

Frida joined CURE to unapologetically serve the Lord in the course of her daily professional work.  It’s a great opportunity to do good works as well as engage spiritually with the people that she is serving. Frida and her husband, Jerran Phiri, are blessed with four lovely children (Natasha, Angela, Dumisa, and Chimwemwe). Outside of work, Friday enjoys time with her family, especially during Christmas when everyone gets together.

Terence Kombe

Spiritual Director / Zambia

Terence Kombe serves as the Spiritual Director at CURE Zambia. He graduated from the Theological College of Central Africa and obtained a Bachelor of Theology with a Majors in Pastoral, Education, and Missions. Previously, he served as a Pastor at Brethern in Christ BIC at as a Senior Pastor at Kingdom Assembly Ministries. In addition to ministry, he worked as a Vice Principal for a secondary teacher training college as well as a part-time lecturer at the University of Zambia.

Terence likes the fact that his role at CURE consolidates his three majors (Pastoral, Education, and Mission) and provides a rare privilege of reaching out to children and others beyond the pulpit. He is married with four children (3 girls and a boy) and spends time playing soccer, badminton, volleyball, and chess in order to reach out to more people.

Giorgio Lastroni

Medical Director / Zambia

Dr. Lastroni graduated from Milan University in Italy in 1997 and always dreamed of working in Africa, with a specific interest in pediatric orthopedics. Catherine K. Malisawa Simusamba

Financial Controller / Zambia

Catherine serves as the Financial Controller at CURE Zambia. In this role, she oversees the Finance department at the hospital. Prior to joining CURE, Catherine worked as a Finance Manager in various corporate organizations in Zambia and has vast experience in finance.

Catherine holds a degree in Accounting and Business and Management from the British College of Professional Management (Cambridge University). She is also a certified accountant under the association of Accounting Technicians. Currently, she is pursuing her Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Zambia and is a member of the Zambia Insitute of Chartered Accountants.

Catherine is married with 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl). She considers it an honor and a privilege to be a part of a team that is transforming and changing lives at CURE Zambia.

Dr. Joseph Maweja

Medical Officer / Zambia

Dr. Maweja serves as the Medical Officer for CURE Zambia. In this role, he works hand in hand with consultants to provide quality medical care to patients and co-workers that may require on-site medical attention. He graduated in Medicine from the University Of Lubumbashi in 2004. Afterward, he worked at Gecamines Sud Hospital and Kamolondo General Hospital in Lubumbashi, DRC. In 2015, he moved to Zambia where he has worked in private and government hospitals with the country. He served as a GP at Hilltop Hospital just before joining the team at CURE.

Storyteller / Zambia

Chaanga serves as a storyteller for CURE Zambia. He is very passionate about visual storytelling with a bias towards stories that have a positive impact on society. Chaanga is a digital content creator and entrepreneur who finds true satisfaction in documenting the great works and life-transforming stories at the hospital.

Elledy T. Shumba

Human Resource and Administration Manager / Zambia

Elledy serves as the Human Resource and Administration Manager at CURE Zambia and is a part of the hospital’s Senior Management Team. In this role, she oversees the Human Resource and Administration departments. She has over 13 years of work experience in both the corporate and NGO sectors. Prior to joining CURE, she served with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. She is passionate about employee relations and ensuring a conducive working environment.

Elledy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration and Development Studies from the University of Zambia and is pursuing a Master of Science in Human Resource Management. As a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.

Above all, Elledy finds CURE an exciting place to work as we witness the transformation of the children’s lives that we serve. She is married with four children (2 girls and 2 boys).

Ireen Muzeta Zimba

Nurse Matron / Zambia

Ireen serves as a Nurse Matron at CURE Zambia. In this role, she provides overall supervision of surgical operations and manages operating room staff.

Ireen has a diploma in registered nursing and theater nursing, which she obtained in Zambia. She also has a diploma in ophthalmic nursing from her studies in South Africa. Additionally, Ireen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Masters of Public Health, both obtained in the United Kingdom. Ireen has worked in government and non-governmental organizations and has vast experience in healthcare. In the course of her career, she has had the privilege of working both in rural and urban settings.  Ireen feels that CURE is her best fit enabling her to complete her work while serving God.

Ireen is married with two children.
