Director of Medical Operations
Dr. Richard Manning started working with CURE International in October of 2004, when he participated in the planning, design, and inception stages of the CURE hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. His roles over the past eleven years have included Director General Surgery Fellowship program, Medical Director, and Executive Director, all of the CURE Afghanistan hospital in Kabul. In 2014, he was asked to consult as Interim Executive Director of the CURE hospital in the Dominican Republic. In January 2015, he accepted the full-time position of Director of Medical Operations at the CURE Mission Support Center in Pennsylvania. With his clinical training, administrative experience, and program management skills, he will work to help coordinate new initiatives between the Chief Medical Officer and the operations team at the Mission Support Center.
Dr. Manning completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, medical school at the Thomas Jefferson University, and surgical training at the George Washington University Hospital. Rick and his wife Linda have been blessed with four children and six grandchildren.
