IT Support Specialist / Operations

Thomas (Tommy) serves as an IT Support Specialist for CURE International. In this role, he supports the technology needs at the Misson Support Center. Tommy has 6 years of IT support experience and a Bachelors’s degree in Computer Information Technology. “I love Jesus, and I love technology, so this job feels like a dream come true. I love my job!”

Tommy is married and has three kids age six and under. They moved to Michigan in 2019 and love being close to the beaches of Lake Michigan!

Renee Beach

Logistics Coordinator

Renee serves as a Logistics Coordinator for CURE International. In this role, she manages inbound and outbound freight in the warehouse.

Andrew Betteridge

International Owner's Representative & Project Engineer / Operations

Andrew Betteridge serves as an International Owner’s Representative and Project Engineer for CURE International. He is the lead on construction and renovation projects as well as strategic facility investments across the CURE network.  He joined CURE in 2015 as a construction manager based at the CURE Ethiopia Children’s Hospital for a multi-year expansion project. Since 2017, Andrew and his wife have been based at the CURE Zambia hospital. Where he continues to provide engineering oversight across the CURE network and regularly makes technical visits to CURE’s hospitals in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, and Uganda.

Prior to CURE, he worked as a mechanical project designer and construction manager for an engineering firm in Pennsylvania and then moved overseas with the SIM Open Door Development team in Mahadaga, Burkina Faso to assist with the design, installation, and maintenance of a village water system, among other engineering initiatives. He holds a B.S. in Engineering (with a Mechanical Concentration) from Messiah College.

Andrew and his wife, Danielle, enjoy every opportunity to travel to new countries, are elders and youth leaders in their local church in Lusaka, and regularly enjoy cooking meals together or discovering new restaurants for their weekly date night.

Becca Brunner-Caple

Program Specialist / Operations

Becca Brunner-Caple serves as the Program Specialist for the CURE International. In this role, she supports CURE’s programs through strategic funding opportunities, monitoring and evaluation, and data management. Becca is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as a Master of International Business. Prior to joining CURE, she served as the Asset Mapping Project Coordinator for OneHope, a non-profit organization focused on presenting the living Word of God in an engaging way to children and youth around the world.

Becca lives in San Antonio, TX with her husband, Brett, and their puppy, Kenai, who was named in honor of their time living in Alaska. She loves all things related to coffee, SEC football, and kids with smiles on their faces after braving surgery.

Steve Douglas

Inventory Specialist

Steve serves as an Inventory Specialist for CURE International. In this role, he manages in and outbound inventory for the organization and has close to 30 years of inventory management experience, with the last 17 years at International Aid. Steve prepared for these roles with a Business curriculum at Muskegon Community College and Ferris State.

One of Steve’s most proud endeavors is completing a run from Detroit to Muskegon in the Strides for Life event. He has also run five marathons and coaches cross-country and track at Muskegon Catholic Central. When coaching, he has had the opportunity to discuss faith with students as the opportunity presents itself, and loves this part of his job. Besides running, he loves to travel every summer throughout the United States. Steve is married to Eve, a nurse, and they have four children (Joe, Kathryn, Erica, and Anna) and two grandchildren.

Andy Groop

Senior Director, Facilities / Operations

Andy serves as Senior Director of Facilities. In that role, he oversees CURE’s supply chain operations, capital management process, and maintenance and engineering functions for our global network. Joshua Korn

Grants Manager / Operations

Joshua Korn serves as CURE International’s Grants Manager. In this role, he leads the grants department in their efforts to secure funding and support for CURE’s programs, from proposal to approval and implementation. Josh first joined CURE in 2011 and has served as both the Spiritual Director and Executive Director of CURE Niger.

After growing up in West Africa (Togo and Ivory Coast) and Israel, Joshua attended Gordon College where he graduated with degrees in History and French. He returned to Israel and received a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva. He then began working as a grant writer as well as writer/editor for Musalaha, a Jerusalem-based non-profit organization that seeks to facilitate reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.

Joshua and his wife Julie relocated to the United States in 2019 with their two sons, Leon and Emmett. They live in Holland, Michigan.

Peter Kyalo

Chief Program Officer / Operations

Peter Kyalo serves as the Chief Program Officer providing oversight to hospital operations in Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Niger, Ethiopia, Zambia, and the Philippines. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, he previously served as Executive Director of CURE Kenya, CURE Zambia, CURE Malawi and Interim Executive Director of CURE Uganda.  Peter holds two Master degrees: one in Global Healthcare Management and Leadership and an MBA from the United States International University.

Outside of work, Peter spends his time with his wife, Jackie, and their four children. He enjoys serving at his church and mentoring young couples.

Jeff Moyer

Grants Coordinator / Operations

Jeff Moyer serves as Grants Coordinator with CURE International. Primarily responsible for developing proposals to secure grant funding for programs and service at CURE, he gets to spend his days sharing images and stories of the life-changing healing happening at CURE’s hospitals and pediatric specialty programs with donors and foundations. Jackie Ngigi

Jackie Ngigi

Regional Grants Manager (Africa) / Operations

Jackie Ngigi serves as the Regional Grants Manager for Africa. In this role, she develops strategic partnerships, secures funding through grant opportunities, and assists with marketing and event planning. Jackie came to CURE with extensive experience in marketing and business development. A graduate of Business Administration (Marketing) from United States International University – Africa, she previously served in leadership roles at leading organizations within East Africa.

Uyiekpen (Uyi) Osifo

IT Manager / Operations

Uyi serves as an IT Manager for the CURE Mission Support Center. He coordinates, plans, and leads the implementation and maintenance of technology-related activities at CURE. Uyi has over ten years of experience in IT, which most recently includes working as a Team Lead for Network Data Systems. He holds an MBA in Project Management and a BS in Technical Management with a concentration in Network and Communications Management.

Uyi is excited to join the CURE team to do meaningful work and contribute to helping people live better. His faith is important to him, and at CURE, he can express his faith in Jesus. He recently moved to Grand Rapids with his wife Anna. When not working, they enjoy travel and exploring attractions in cities around the world.

Bry Schultz

Director of Health Products / Operations

Bry serves as the Director of Health Products for CURE International. In this role, she develops and maintains partnerships within our global and local networks empowering communities with access to resources and opportunities to serve. Bry obtained a B.S. in Intercultural & Biblical Studies from Cornerstone University. She loves being part of a team that passionately loves Jesus and that lives with engaged hearts that are willing to face the hard realities life brings and still extend Jesus’ hope, healing, and an invitation to abundant life.

Bry enjoys spending quality time with friends and family and learning new things! Bry and her family have made their home in West Michigan and love to hike and explore the area.

Kristina Thorne

Procurement Manager / Operations

Kristina serves as a Procurement Manager for CURE International. In this role, she connects companies that have inventory donations to provide with the areas in our network that need them most. Kristina feels that it is an incredible privilege to have a job where her heart connects to the mission. “I love the holistic approach to heal the whole person.”

Kristina is married to a Pastor of a local church and they have three girls. She loves food, a good challenge, good friends, and being a part of bringing people hope and restoration.
