Director of Accountability
Abbie Allan currently serves as CURE’s Director of Accountability. In this role, she helps collect and maintain quantitative and qualitative data from the field for use across multiple departments throughout the organization. Her day-to-day responsibilities are generally comprised of synthesizing statistical and anecdotal input from CURE’s hospitals into grant applications, proposals, and reports, while managing the Accountability team’s coordinators.
Since she joined CURE in 2008, Abbie has had a hand in executive administration and project management, initially for both the Founder and then COO. These efforts supported CURE interests in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America for development and operational purposes, as well as the maintenance of relationships with donors, foundations, and government entities supporting the organization.
Personal, professional, academic, and volunteer activities have led Abbie to travel in Latin America and Europe, including three months serving at a children’s home in the Dominican Republic and a semester studying at the University of Barcelona. Along with ongoing practice on behalf of CURE, these experiences have enabled her to perfect and maintain her Spanish fluency.
Abbie enjoys an active lifestyle – running, dancing, swimming, playing ultimate frisbee, cycling, and rock climbing – and has dedicated several races to raising more than $10,000 for CURE’s work for children with disabilities. She lives with her husband, Rob, and their two-year-old pitbull mix, Tai, in Mechanicsburg, PA.
