
Dr. Shelley Oliver
Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon / Niger
Dr. Shelley Oliver serves as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at CURE Niger. She graduated from Wheaton College with degrees in chemistry and political science. After graduating, she completed a year of laboratory research at Argonne National Lab, Chicago, one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s national laboratories for scientific and engineering research. She attended medical school at Southern Illinois University, where she earned her medical degree in 2006. Dr. Oliver completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners/Michigan State University in 2011.
Her introduction to CURE came in 2010 when she traveled to Kijabe, Kenya, for a month-long externship during her chief year of residency. She completed a sports medicine fellowship at Fairview/Minneapolis Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in 2012. Dr. Oliver spent four years in private practice in Northern Colorado before the opportunity arose to pursue full-time work for two and a half years at CURE Philippines (Tebow CURE), followed by joining the team at CURE Niger.
