Dr. Dorothy Bbaale
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon / Malawi
Dr. Dorothy Bbaale serves as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at CURE Malawi where she helps surgically treat conditions like burn contractures and cleft lip and palate. Dr. Dorothy loves the opportunity to treat some of the most vulnerable children, who typically lack access to quality, safe surgical services.
Before coming to CURE, Dr. Dorothy underwent post-graduate training at the CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital in Uganda that focuses on surgically correcting and treating pediatric orthopedic conditions. She then went on to work there for a couple of years and her interest in plastic surgery grew. Dr. Dorothy also completed a burn-focused fellowship through Inter Burns at the Choithram Research Centre and a microsurgery course in Ganga Hospital in India.
Outside of work, Dr. Dorothy loves to stay active by jogging and playing tennis.
