What am I giving to?

CURE in Zambia

The picture above is of CURE in Zambia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Zambia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Matildah. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Matildah. When you give a gift through Matildah's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Zambia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Matildah. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“It is rare to see a hospital where they pray for the patients, and I have faith that my child will be healed,” shares Isaac, father to Matildah.

Matildah was born with clubfoot. Her treatment started when she was three months old at a local general hospital. By the time she was turning two-years-old, she was discharged from the treatment because her legs were corrected. However, after about a year, her feet relapsed and they went back to the hospital. “She started getting treatment again. It lasted for a year, but she didn’t get any better. As a result, we started looking for an alternative for her treatment,” says Isaac.

Everyday Matildah is reminded of how she is physically different from her friends. “When going to school, she usually walks alone because she can’t keep up with the walking pace of her friends. She does play with friends, but sometimes she plays alone, when friends are playing activities she can’t participate in,” Isaac told us. Matildah is currently in second grade. In order to make it easier for her to walk to school, her parents bought her plastic shoes because they follow the curve of her feet and provide some comfort.

During a hospital visit, Isaac met a parent who had brought their child to CURE Zambia earlier. That parent gave him contacts for the CURE Zambia, and Isaac brought Matildah here.

Isaac is thankful for the experience he has had at CURE Zambia so far. “The workers here have kind hearts. It is rare for a hospital to put patients in prayers, and because of this, I have faith that my child will get healed. I am thankful to the hospital, and asking for God to add more days to their lives."

"Even if her leg is still in a cast, it is satisfying to see it like this. God is really working," said Isaac, Matildah's dad. Matildah has been discharged. We shall see our beautiful girl in a couple of weeks, and possibly she will have surgery on her right leg. Please keep praying for Matildah's healing! Photo of Matildah

This beautiful girl was in the playroom today! She joined the other kids from the ward and the long term patient hostel. The beauty about the playroom is that allows kids to forget about their condition and the different activities makes feel good about themselves. Not to mention that they also get to learn the word of God! Photo of Matildah
