CURE in Zambia
The picture above is of CURE in Zambia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Zambia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Boyd. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Boyd. When you give a gift through Boyd's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Zambia. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Boyd. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

"I feel bad seeing my son develop a condition he was not born with," says Catherine, mother to Boyd.
Boyd’s conditions date back to about three years ago. Catherine narrates that when he was playing with friends, a friend put him on a shoulder and started running with him, sadly he dropped him and caused multiple injuries on his body, however they did not notice his leg was also affected. “Some days after he fell down, he would complain of pain on the right leg,” she shared. Eventually, his right leg started bending and it was getting worse over time.
Boyd was taken to a local hospital about three years ago and after the examination they said his leg is okay, he didn’t need any medical attention and that they should take him again for review in 2021. However, Boyd’s leg was visibly bent and to add to the psychological trauma Catherine was going through as the result of the son’s condition, the neighbors denied responsibility for their sons’ action to an extent that they even shifted to different neighborhoods. Thankfully, there is a person in their neighborhood who knew about CURE Zambia and encouraged Catherine to bring him because his condition was getting worse.
We're thankful that Boyd is here, please join us in praying for him!
Latest Updates
Boyd came for follow up in our OPD today! He had the bandage from surgery removed. The plate he had installed in his leg will slowly correct his knock knee so now it's just a waiting game. The doctor would like to see how Boyd will be in doing in three months time. If things look good then, the plate will be removed. Please keep praying for Boyd until we see him again!
Boyd lives within Lusaka and because of that, he has been discharged and is going home! However, he will come back next week for a doctor's visit and a dressing change. Keep praying for Boyd as he continues to heal a home!
We are happy the treatment hasn't caused so much discomfort to Boyd! In the OR, they placed a plate on his right leg which will be holding the affected bone as it heals over a period of time. Pray that Boyd's healing goes well as planned!
