CURE in Zambia

The picture above is of CURE in Zambia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Zambia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Tana. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Tana. When you give a gift through Tana's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Zambia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Tana. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“She has been in and out of hospitals her whole life because of her disabilities” shares Ireen, Tana's aunt.

Tana was dealt a rough hand in life being born with a condition called "knock knees" where her legs angle inwards literally causing her knees to hit each other as she walks. It's a painful condition that makes even short walks a challenge. Despite her disability, Tana is ambitious and dreams of being a nurse when she grows up and finishes school. Achieving her dream became a little bit easier when a CURE Zambia partner organization met Tana and shared with her the great news that we can correct her legs, making it easier to walk and relieving her difficulties! This organization even helped Tana make the long journey from her home to our hospital!

Please pray for for Tana as she begins her healing journey!

We asked Tana how she is feeling now that she has had her surgery. Her response was "I am feeling good that my leg will be straight. I am looking forward to day the the cast will be removed and I will be walking with a straight leg." Kindly pray for Tana's healing and for her wish to come to life! Photo of Tana

Tana had her surgery today! Her condition was a bit advanced and somewhat complicated but thankfully Dr. Moyo successfully got Tana's left leg all straightened out. After the surgery, a long leg cast has been put on which will hold her bones in the corrected position until they fully heal. Please be praying for Tana as she now starts the hard work of recovering!
