“I want my son’s legs to be straight,” says Harrison's mother Charity in a firm tone.

The excitement of witnessing Harrison start to walk was cut short when Charity noticed Harrison's legs were curving. His legs were bending outwards and instead of correcting as he got older, the curves just got more severe. Fearing for his future, Charity took Harrison to a local hospital where he was in and out with various treatment methods being tried although nothing worked.

Harrison's legs occasionally hurt and especially if he sits for a long time and then tries to stand. The pain is excruciating and it's not uncommon to find him in tears.

A glimmer of hope entered Charity and Harrison's life when they moved houses and one of the new neighbors had a child who had been treated here at CURE Zambia. This neighbor advised Charity to bring Harrison to us. When they did, they were put on a progressive program which has now led to Harrison being admitted to receive surgery!
